End

Beneath the twisted banyan tree
You'll find me in my least distress
When memories of our love possess
Your heart and soul to see

Perhaps you thought "I've more to give"
And still more as you wrung your hands
And thought of me in distant lands
Before you forgot how to live

I'll see you when I long for death
With spices in my socks and pockets
In saffron robe, hair top-knotted,
Dust in pores, and on my breath

Take my ashes from the funeral pyre
And float them in the river there.
Soon you'll find me everywhere,
As our love is fulfilled by fire.
